Al Rayyan's young midfielder Abdulmajid Anad has been putting in a host of impressive preformances for his side in recent weeks, so much so that he has caught the eye of Qatar national team boss Jorge Fossati. Ahead of Al Rayyan’s QSL match of the week against Lekhwiya, QSL online spoke with Enad to get his thoughts on the game.
Opening up the conversation Enad made clear that the title race was not over for Al Rayyan.“We are currently 9 points away from Lekhwiya and we are seeking to reduce the gap to 6 points. We are capable of winning this game as is our aim in all matches.”
Both teams have enjoyed a strong start to 2017, with Al Rayyan winning all of their games in the league this year so far. Despite taking on the league leaders Enad is confident of his sides chances.“We are confident going into this game. We are hoping to make the fans happy with a win, despite the fact that our opponents are very strong team who have quality all over the pitch.”
“I think if we play the way we have in our last games in the QSL we have a great chance to win, we know that we can win this game and put pressure on Lekhwiya” added the Qatari midfielder.
Enad went on to praise the hard work done by the head coach with the players and how he as a young player took advantage and learned a lot from Laudrup as well as the previous coach Jorge Fossati; “I have learned a great deal from both Laudrup and Fossati. Thank Allah for my performance with the team which comes with the support and help of my teammates.”
Talk turned to Al Rayyan’s opponents Lekhwiya, with Enad noting that the whole team could be a threat to Al Rayyan in this game;“Lekhwiya has many distinguished players. We will focus on their movements with the aim to stop them and to win the three points.”
About his ambition with Al Rayyan, he added: “our ambition in Al Rayyan is to win more than one title this season and go the furthest in the AFC Champions League.”
The player ended the interview stressing the togetherness of his side;“The key to Al Rayyan's success is the team play. We are also fortunate to have passonate fans, and I urge them be with us in the coming games.”
