Thursday’s QSL action will see three matches, which have implications at both ends of the standings. The first game of the day will see an in-form Al Rayyan side take on relegation threatened Muaither in the 16:45 KO at Al Sadd stadium. The Lions are at the start of a busy schedule of Champions League and QSL games, and Michael Laudrup is widely expected to make some changes for his side.
Whilst for Muaither, they are fighting for survival in the league, and will be looking to get a result against the current QSL champions. Philippe Birol’s side have been undefeated in three QSL games. Birol will also be hoping that January signing
The second game of the day is the QSL match of the week, which will see second placed Al Sadd take on old rivals Al Arabi. Jesaldo Ferriera’s side could go level on points with lead leaders Lekhwiya, and will be extra motivated to get all three points. As for Al Arabi, they picked up a win against Al Gharafa last time out, and will be targeting a win to continue their upturn in fortunes.
The final tie of the day will see a resurgent El Jaish side take on an Al Kharaitiyat side who are fighting for survival in the QSL. Sabri Lamouchi’s side are going to be looking for back to back wins in the league against relegation threatened sides, following their 2-1 win over Al Shahania last time out. Whilst for the Thunders will be aiming for at least a point, against one of the better sides in the league.
